David: He committed adultery with Bathsheba and arranged the murder of her husband Uriah. 2 Samuel 11:4-5: "Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her. (She had purified herself from her uncleanness.) Then she went back home. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: 'Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.' And he went outside and wept bitterly." Judas Iscariot: He betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. Matthew 26:14-16: "Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests and asked, 'What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?' So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over." Saul (Paul): Before his conversion, Saul persecuted Christians. Acts 8:3: "But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison." Acts 9:1-2: "Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem." These examples illustrate that even prominent biblical figures were not immune to sin, highlighting the human propensity to fail and the necessity of divine grace and forgiveness.
